Guarantees we provide for new roofs, renewals & major overhauls/repairs
New Roofs & Roof Renewals - 10 Years
Slate, Tile, Built-up Felt, Mastic Asphalt, Single Ply Membrane, Profiled Sheeting & Polymer Coating Systems
On all new roofs and roof renewals, carried out in compliance with current British Standards and Codes of Practice, we offer our own 10 Year Guarantee on workmanship and materials at no additional cost.
In addition we can also provide a 10 Year "Insurance Backed" Guarantee underwritten by Guarantee Protection Insurance Ltd, a major player in the international insurance market. Where the property is a single occupier domestic premise the guarantee is provided by us at no additional cost.
For industrial or commercial premises (which term includes multiple occupancy buildings such a residential blocks of flats) the cost of providing a 10 Year "Insurance Backed" Guarantee is dependant upon the term, contract value and specification. Application and premium payment is made by the client direct to QANW (the scheme administrators). In general terms however the premium cost is in the range of 1.5 - 2.0% of the contract value, plus IPT (Insurance Premium Tax).
Single Ply Membrane & Built-up Felt Roofs Only
Guarantees extending to 12, 15, 20 or even 25 years are possible on single ply membrane systems and certain high specification built-up felt roofing systems. These are issued by the felt manufacturer and are subject to inspection and full compliance with their specification (the inclusion of roof insulation products is normally a pre-condition of such warranties). We can usually offer such warranties using either Pluvitec, Nord Bitumi or Langley felt products and Bailey Atlantic single ply membrane systems.
Felt Overlay Systems - 10/12 & 15 Years
It is often possible, depending upon the condition of an existing roof covering and roof decking, to offer a felt overlay system. In such cases we will provide a 10 Year Guarantee on workmanship and materials.
On certain Pluvitec, Nord Bitumi & Langley felt overlay systems we can also offer extended 12 or 15 year warranties. (These are only available at the discretion of of the manufacturer and are subject to an inspection of the existing roof by their representative and full compliance with the resultant overlay specification issued by them.)
Major Repairs & Roof Overhauls - up to 3 Years
General repairs are not normally guaranteed for more than 3 months.
This should not be viewed as a reflection on the standard of workmanship applied to general repairs, rather it recognises the difficulty in providing a meaningful warranty where only certain elements of the roof have been worked upon.
Dependant upon the extent and type of repairs carried out we may be able to offer a warranty of up to 3 years on workmanship and materials but this will be entirely at the discretion of the examining surveyor and assumes that all recommended works are carried out.
